CFO Moves – week ending August 24, 2012

CFO Moves this week include:


Carlson announced they have elected Trudy Rautio as president and chief executive officer. Rautio has been a senior executive with Carlson for 15 years and, for the past eight years, has served as executive vice president and chief financial and administrative officer of Carlson. She serves on the boards of Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) and The Rezidor Hotel Group — Carlson’s majority-owned hotel group in Europe, Middle East and Africa. She replaces Hubert Joly, who has been president and chief executive officer of Carlson since 2008. Joly resigned from the position to pursue other career opportunities. Prior to her current position, Rautio served as president of Carlson Hotels Worldwide, The Americas. Previously, Rautio served a dual role as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Carlson Consumer Group plus chief administrative officer of Carlson Hospitality Worldwide. Prior to joining Carlson, Rautio was senior vice president and chief financial officer of Jostens, Inc.. She also served as vice president of finance for Minneapolis-based Pillsbury Co. In addition to the Carlson-related boards, Rautio also serves on the board of directors for Securian Holding Company and Imation.

Sunergy, Inc. (OTC: SNEY) announced the appointment of Larry Max Bigler as Interim President, CFO, and Director. Mr. Bigler replaces Bryan Miller as President and Mark Shelley as CFO. Mr. Bigler is a practicing Certified Public Accountant with many mining clients, retail, rental and individual clients. Mr. Bigler is currently a director and chairman of the Audit Committee for General Metals (GNMT). He formerly was CFO, Vice President, and Director for Oro Nevada Resources. From 1987 until 1992 he was Treasurer and Controller for Getchell Gold (formerly First Miss Gold).

Cigital announced that Scott Yancey will be joining the company as Chief Financial Officer. Over his career, Scott has served as senior executive for In-Q-Tel. Scott was also the CFO for Cable and Wireless North America.

Asure Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASUR) announced that David Scoglio, the Company’s Chief Financial Officer, resigned for personal reasons in order to pursue an opportunity, as Chief Financial Officer with Strata Solar. In the interim, the duties of the Chief Financial Officer will be performed by Paul Tesluk, the Company’s Controller, and Patrick Goepel, the Company’s Chief Executive Officer.

Oxford Resource Partners, LP (NYSE: OXF) announced that Jeffrey M. Gutman, Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Oxford Resources GP, LLC, the general partner of the Partnership (the “General Partner”), and other affiliates of the Partnership, has resigned his position. The Partnership has hired Bradley W. Harris as his successor. Mr. Harris will succeed Mr. Gutman as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer on October 1, 2012. He has recent and extensive coal industry experience, including his almost five years of service as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of International Coal Group, Inc. (“ICG”). Mr. Harris served as Controller, Chief Accounting Officer and Chief Financial Officer at various companies from 1996 to 2006.

Forbes Energy Services Ltd. (NASDAQ: FES) announced that Ted A. Izatt has been appointed to its Board of Directors. Since September 2010, Mr. Izatt has served as Chief Investment Officer for QRI, LLC. In addition to this position, Mr. Izatt served as QRI, LLC’s Chief Financial Officer and Principal Financial Analyst from October 2008 through August 2010. Prior to joining QRI, LLC, Mr. Izatt served as Senior Managing Director of Bear Stearns’ fixed income research department, from March 2004 to August 2008. From July 1997 to February 2004, Mr. Izatt worked as Senior Vice President with Lehman Brothers. Prior to that, Mr. Izatt worked as a managing director of Moody’s Investors Service from February 1992 to June 1997. Mr. Izatt also currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Quantum Reservoir Impact, LLC, and Oasis Bank SSB, an independent bank.

GenSpera, Inc. (OBB: GNSZ) announced the appointment of Nancy Jean Barnabei to the position Vice President Finance and Treasurer. Most recently, from 2010-2011, she was Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Corridor Pharmaceuticals, Inc. which acquired Immune Control, Inc., where she served as CFO from 2008-2010. Previously, she founded Talkeetna Advisors, LLC, in 2005. Ms. Barnabei also served as Vice President Finance, Treasurer and CFO of Locus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from 2000-2004. She earlier served as Controller of Cephalon, Inc.

Clean Harbors, Inc. (NYSE: CLH) announced that Vice Chairman, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer James M. Rutledge will transition to the newly created position of President and Chief Operating Officer. He will retain his position as Vice Chairman. In conjunction with this promotion, Clean Harbors also announced that Robert E. Gagnonhas joined the Company as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. Prior to Clean Harbors, Rutledge served as Chief Financial Officer of Rogers Corporation from 2002 through 2005. Prior to Rogers, he served as CFO at Baldwin Technology Company, Inc. He also served in various capacities, including vice president and treasurer, over a 20-year span at Witco Corporation. Prior to joining Clean Harbors, Gagnon served as Vice President of Finance, Business Planning and Chief Accounting Officer at Biogen Idec Inc. He has held a variety of positions within Biogen’s finance organization since joining the company in 2005. Previously he was Corporate Controller at eRoom Technology.

NAI Daus has hired Suzanne Hamilton, as Vice President of Finance. Hamilton has more than two decades of experience and results analyzing business opportunities and developing valuations on commercial projects.

Wayside Technology Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: WSTG) announced that it has appointed Tom Flaherty as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Flaherty most recently served as Vice President of Finance of StemCyte, Inc. from 2008 to 2012. Before that, from 2004 to 2008, Mr. Flaherty served as Corporate Controller & US Division Controller at VPIsystems, Inc. Prior to joining VPIsystems, Inc., from 1997 to 2004, Mr. Flaherty served as Chief Financial Officer and founder of Bike-Time, LLC and GeeWhiz Toys, LLC. Mr. Flaherty was also employed by Centennial Communications Corp. and Ernst & Young, LLP.

Southern Aluminum Finishing Co., Inc. announced that John McClatchey, Ph.D. is retiring from the position of President of SAF. Dr. McClatchey has held the President’s job since 1988. He will continue to serve on the Board of Directors. Dr. McClatchey plans to work as Chief Financial Officer of SAF for at least another two years.

Elance announced the appointment of Servaes Tholen as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Tholen joins Elance from eBay, where he was most recently as CFO of eBay North America. Prior to eBay, Servaes worked in the Netherlands, managing a Charity Lottery and spent seven years at McKinsey & Company as a strategy consultant.

Career Education Corporation (NASDAQ: CECO) announced the appointment of Colleen M. O’Sullivan as senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer. She replaces Michael J. Graham, who has submitted his resignation to accept a position at another company. O’Sullivan previously served as the company’s senior vice president, corporate controller and chief accounting officer. O’Sullivan previously held senior financial positions at Hewitt Associates, Sears Holdings and Arthur Andersen, where she was an audit partner.

Response Genetics, Inc. (NASDAQ:RGDX) announced that David D. O’Toole ceased serving as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Company. The Company has appointed Kevin R. Harris to serve as the Company’s Interim Chief Financial Officer on a temporary basis. Mr. Harris previously served as Chief Financial Officer and a director of CyberDefender Corporation from 2009 until August 2012 (and as interim Chief Executive Officer from August 2011 until August 2012) and as Chief Operating Officer of Statmon Technologies Corp from 2004 to 2009. Mr. Harris’s other professional experience includes serving as Head of Production, Finance at PolyGram Television, Director of Corporate Financial Planning at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and Senior Vice President of Finance at RKO Pictures.

SynapSense Corporation announced that the company has named Ryan Benton its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Prior to SynapSense, Benton served as CFO of SoloPower, Inc. Benton also previously served in positions such as corporate controller for eFunds Corporation and as a financial consultant to ASMA.

EnerJex Resources, Inc. (OTC: ENRJ) announced that it has appointed Douglas M. Wright as its Chief Financial Officer. Most recently, he served as the Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of Nations Petroleum Company, Ltd., from 2006 to present. In 2005 to 2006, Mr. Wright served as a Manager of Financial Reporting for Noble Energy, Inc. Doug also served in various managerial roles from 1986 to 1996 at Oryx Energy Co.

FluoroPharma Medical, Inc. (OTC: FPMI) announced the promotion of Tamara Rhein to the position of Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Rhein joined FluoroPharma in 2011 as Controller. Prior to FluoroPharma, she was Controller of Manhattan Pharmaceuticals. Before Manhattan Pharmaceuticals, Ms. Rhein was with Vyteris. Before joining Vyteris, Ms. Rhein was Vice President of New Business at Credit Suisse First Boston. Prior to its merger with Credit Suisse First Boston, Ms. Rhein was a Vice President of External Reporting at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.

Ulta Beauty (NASDAQ: ULTA) announced the appointment of Bruce L. Hartman as Chief Financial Officer. He most recently served as Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Financial Officer of The Yankee Candle Company. Prior to joining Yankee Candle in 2008, Mr. Hartman was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Cushman & Wakefield from 2006 to 2008. Mr. Hartman served in a variety of senior leadership roles at Foot Locker, Inc. from 1996 to 2005. He was named Chief Financial Officer in 1999. Previously, Mr. Hartman spent ten years with the May Department Stores, in Chief Financial Officer and Controller roles with Filene’s, Famous-Barr, Robinsons-May, Lord & Taylor, and G. Fox & Company. Mr. Hartman has been a member of the Board of Directors of rue21, inc. since 2010. He previously served as a Director of Pathmark Supermarkets from 2004 to 2007.

Actinium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced that the Company hired Enza Guagenti as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to assuming the role of CFO, Ms. Guagenti worked for API as a corporate accounting consultant for the past eight years. Ms. Guagenti has held senior management level positions for various companies which includes an out-patient surgery center servicing approximately 8,000 patients per year. Ms. Guagenti has served as president of the NJ Assoc. of Ambulatory Surgery Centers and has served on various state healthcare committees.

Big Lots, Inc. (NYSE: BIG) announced that Timothy A. Johnson has been promoted to SVP, Chief Financial Officer. Johnson joined Big Lots in 2000 as Director of Strategic Planning and was promoted to Vice President, Strategic Planning and Investor Relations in February 2004. He was promoted to Senior Vice President, Finance in July 2011.

ViaSat Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT) announced that Ronald Wangerin, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of ViaSat Inc., has advised the company of his decision to resign to pursue other opportunities outside of ViaSat. Shawn Duffy, ViaSat Vice President, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer, will lead the day-to-day management of the finance team and assume the role of interim Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Duffy joined ViaSat in 2005 as Corporate Controller and, in 2009, was appointed the company’s Vice President and Corporate Controller. She assumed her current position as Vice President, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer in April 2012.

Savant Capital Management announced that Daniel Rezin, formerly of Amphenol Corporation, has been appointed to Chief Financial Officer. Rezin most recently served as the General Manager at Amphenol Corporation, formerly known as Antel, Prior to joining Amphenol, he spent 11 years with the accounting firm McGladrey and Pullen.

Lustros, Inc. (OTC: LSLD) announced that Gonzalo Troncoso has accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Troncoso, previously the Company’s President and Chief Operating Officer, replaces Zirk Engelbrecht in the position of Chief Executive Officer. From 1986 to 1997 Mr. Troncoso served as Vice President – Finance and Chief Financial Officer for SRC International. From 1998 to 2001 Mr. Troncoso worked as Vice President — Finance at Anixter International and PSINet . In 2001, Mr. Troncoso joined Interland where he served as Vice President- Finance and Administration until 2004 and as Chief Financial Officer until 2007. From 2007 to 2009 Mr. Troncoso was the Chief Financial Officer and President of Web Services of Web.com. Since 2009, Mr. Troncoso has been engaged in several start-ups in the Internet and energy service industries.

Gyrodyne Company of America, Inc. (NASDAQ: GYRO) announced that its Chief Financial Officer, Gary Fitlin, was appointed by the Board of Directors as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Mr. Fitlin will also continue to serve in his current positions as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer.

Discovery Gold Corporation (OTCQB: DCGD) announced the appointment of David Cutler as Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer, Secretary, and Director of the Company. Mr. Cutler currently serves as a consulting CFO for a publicly quoted mineral exploration company with a gold project in Mexico. Dean Huge has resigned as the Company’s start-up CFO in order to pursue other interests.

WESTMED Practice Partners has appointed Anthony Viceroy as Chief Financial Officer. Previously, he spent 10 years at Omnicom Group, Inc. He then went on to become global president and CFO of Porter Novelli, a public relations firm within the DAS unit. Prior to joining Omnicom Group, Viceroy served as the North American treasurer of the Danish biopharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk.

Zumiez Inc. (NASDAQ : ZUMZ) announced that Marc Stolzman, Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of Zumiez Inc. gave notice of his decision to leave the Company effective as of a transition date to be determined but no later than September 14, 2012 to pursue other opportunities. The company also announced that Christopher Work has been appointed as the Company’s new Chief Financial Officer and acting Corporate Secretary. Mr. Work had served as the Company’s Vice President, Controller. Christopher Work has been employed with the Company since October 2007, where he last served as Vice President, Controller.

American Electric Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AETI) announced that Frances Powell Hawes, AETI’s Chief Financial Officer, has resigned from the Company to pursue other opportunities.

LeadingResponse, LLC announced that Judy Gessner has been appointed Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Judy previously served as Chief Operating Officer, List Services at Infogroup. Prior to joining Infogroup, Judy was the Senior Vice President, Finance and Administration for OpenCell Corp., a high technology start-up. She started her career as an auditor and moved to Lockheed Martin where she held various positions in finance.

FBL Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: FFG) announced that it has named James P. (Jim) Brannen to the position of Chief Executive Officer, after his service as interim Chief Executive Officer for two months. Donald J. (Don) Seibel, who currently serves as Vice President – Finance, has been named Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, positions previously held by Brannen. Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive Officer, Brannen served as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Administrative Officer and Treasurer since 2007. Prior to joining FBL, Brannen worked in public accounting. Donald J. Seibel has been named Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, positions previously held by James P. Brannen. Prior to his appointment as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, Seibel served on the executive management team as Vice President – Finance since 2007. Seibel joined FBL in 1996 and became GAAP accounting vice president in 1998 and vice president-accounting in 2002. Prior to joining FBL, Seibel worked in public accounting.

ML Macadamia Orchards, L.P. (OTC: NNUT) announced that the Partnership has hired Bruce Clarke as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Clarke was previously CFO of a privately held food manufacturing company, and served as a Controller for Abraxis BioScience, Inc.
