UK | CFO Moves - week ending 22 August 2014

St. Modwen Properties PLC announced the appointment of Ian Bull as a non-executive director with effect from 1st September 2014. Ian is currently Chief Financial Officer and main board director at Ladbrokes plc, a position he has held since 2011. His financial experience spans over 20 years with companies such as Whitbread plc and Buena Vista Home Entertainment (Walt Disney Company). He held a number of senior positions with BT Group between 1997 and 2005, including Chief Executive of BT Retail Enterprises and Chief Financial Officer, BT Retail. From 2006 to 2011 Ian was Group Finance Director of Greene King plc. Ian become Audit Committee Chairman in the coming year.

Fenner PLC announced that Richard Perry, Group Finance Director, has indicated to the Board his intention to retire in January 2015. The company also announced the appointment of John Pratt as Group Finance Director, to take effect when Richard Perry retires. John Pratt joined Fenner in 1991, and has held a number of senior positions, including Group Financial Controller from 1996 to 2002.

Aurasian Minerals Plcannounced that Simon Bullock is joining the Board of the Company with effect from 1st September 2014. Simon steps up from the role of Chief Financial Officer, which he has performed since February 2011, to a non-Executive role.

Ascent Resources plc announced the appointment of Colin Hutchinson as Finance Director. Colin currently serves as Group Financial Controller of Ascent and Company Secretary, positions he has held since March 2013. Prior to joining Ascent, Colin served as financial controller at Lochard Energy plc and finance director at Samba Communications. He has been a non-executive director of Iafyds plc (formerly VPhase plc) since February 2014.

AFC Energy PLCannounced that Christopher Tawney has joined the Company as Finance Director (FD) and Company Secretary. He is expected to be appointed to the board of AFC Energy in due course. Most recently, Christopher was FD for three years at Algaecytes Limited. In addition, he also served as FD for Dettingen Ltd, a financial consultancy where he fulfilled similar boardroom roles for a number of early-stage cleantech companies including Sonnedix Solar LP, Coomtech Ltd and Global Oxygen. Christopher also has board level experience with AIM-quoted companies including Nviro Cleantech plc. He also served as group finance director of D1 Oils plc and before that held senior financial positions at several other international businesses including WBB Minerals, part of the Sibelco Group, Lucent Technologies/Avaya Communications, General Utilities Plc, part of Veolia, and Thomson (Uk) Holdings Ltd, owned by Thales.

Aukett Swanke Group Plc announced the appointment of Beverley Wright as Group Finance Director with effect from 15th September 2014. Following 16 years at Mowlem plc, Beverley joined Midas Group Ltd. in 2005 as Group Finance Director. She then moved to CH2M HILL in 2006 as Commercial and Financial Director Europe, becoming International Commercial Director in 2013. Duncan Harper has agreed to remain with the Group for a further four weeks from 15th September 2014 following which his resignation will become effective.

Serco Group plc announced the appointment of Angus Cockburn as Group Chief Financial Officer as from the end of October 2014, at which point he will join the Serco Group plc Board. Andrew Jenner will continue as the Group’s Chief Financial Officer until 30 September 2014. Angus is currently the interim Chief Executive Officer at Aggreko plc. He has served Aggreko in this role since April 2014 having previously held the position of Chief Financial Officer since 2000. Angus is also a Non-Executive Director of GKN plc. Prior to joining Aggreko, he served for three years as Managing Director of Pringle, and for five years as a senior finance executive of PepsiCo.

Speedy Hire PLC announced that Lynn Krige, Group Finance Director since September 2011, have mutually agreed with the company that Lynn will step down from the Board on a date to be finalised to pursue other career opportunities.

Admiral Group PLC announced the appointment of Geraint Jones as Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and executive director of Admiral Group PLC. Geraint takes over from Kevin Chidwick, who is handing over his CFO duties to focus on his role in the US as CEO of the Group’s rapidly growing Elephant Auto Insurance business. Geraint joined Admiral in 2002 and has since held a number of senior finance positions including Head of Finance, before being promoted to Deputy Chief Financial Officer in January 2012.

Quanta Fluid Solutions Ltd. announced the appointment of Willem Baralt as Chief Financial Officer. Willem was pivotal in the turnaround and public listing of FLAG Telecom and was co-founder and CFO of Arqaam Capital, one of the largest boutique investment banks based in Dubai. Prior to joining Quanta, he was Managing Director of a private investment office, Mercantile Group. Additionally, he has also worked at the telecommunications firm Ameritech (SBC), as well the investment banks Deutsche Bank and Panmure Gordon. More recently, he led the acquisition and the subsequent merger of the real-estate agency Humberts with Chesterton.

Leni Gas & Oil PLC announced the appointment of James Adam Thadchanamoorthy to the Board of the Company as Finance Director. Mr Thadchanamoorthy has been working for the Company since January 2012, and previously worked with BP plc for over ten years.

UK | CFO Moves - week ending 1 August 2014

Premier Oil PLC announced that Richard Rose will join Premier’s Board as Finance Director on 8 September 2014. After working at HSBC Investment Bank in the corporate finance division he joined Oriel Securities in 2002, becoming a Partner in Equity Research. In 2012 Richard joined RBC Capital Markets as a Managing Director where he advised a number of energy companies including Premier Oil. He joins the company from Ophir Energy where his current role encompasses Strategy and Head of Corporate Communications.

Pace plc announced that Roddy Murray has stepped down from the Board of Pace with immediate effect. Belinda Ellis, Group Financial Controller at Pace for 3 years, will be acting CFO until further notice. Belinda was appointed Group Financial Controller of Pace Plc. in July 2011. Before joining Pace, Belinda was Finance Director, Planning and Analysis for News International. Prior to this she held a number of finance roles in News Corporation.

Babcock International Group PLCannounced the following changes to the Board with effect from 1 August 2014. Bill Tame, who has been Group Finance Director since January 2002, has been appointed as Chief Executive of the Group’s enlarged International division. Bill will continue to be an Executive Director of the Group. Franco Martinelli has been appointed as Group Finance Director and will join the Board of Babcock as an Executive Director. Franco has been the Group’s Financial Controller working alongside Bill Tame for the past 12 years.

UK | CFO Moves - week ending 25 July 2014

Mothercare plc announced that Matt Smith has given notice of his resignation as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director. Under the terms of his service agreement, Matt Smith has a notice period of 12 months and will remain with Mothercare until a successor has been appointed and an appropriate transition has taken place.

All Leisure Group PLC announced that Chris Gadsby has decided to step down from his role as Group Finance Director of the All Leisure Group PLC. He will be leaving the business in December. Kevan Witts will become Interim Group Finance Director and he joins All Leisure Group PLC on Monday 11 August 2014. Kevan has spent the last 9 years as a self employed consultant in senior roles in the financial services sector and has extensive travel industry experience. Most notably he was for 12 years a Director of the Thomson Travel Group (now TUI UK). His time at Thomson consisted of 8 1/2 years as Finance Director of Lunn Poly followed by 2 1/2 years as Finance Director of Thomson Holidays Ltd. Latterly, Kevan held the position of Finance Director of Thomson Travel UK Distribution.

Capital Lease Aviation Plc (LSE: CLA) announced the appointment of Richard Wolanski to the CLA board. Richard Wolanski is joining the board as an Avation representative and is a non executive director. Richard Wolanski was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Comdek Ltd in 2002. Between 2007 and 2012 he served as Managing Director of Speewah Metals Ltd, and also served as Managing Director of NT Resources Ltd between 2008 and 2011. Since 2011 he has been serving as Non-Executive Director of My ATM Holdings Ltd. Since 2013 he has been serving as Finance Director of Avation PLC.

McBride plc announced the appointment of Chris Smith as Chief Finance Officer. Chris will be joining the Board in due course, at a date to be confirmed. Chris joins from API Group plc where he is currently the Group Finance Director. Before joining API he worked with Scapa plc as Finance and IT Director, Europe and Asia. Prior to that he held a number of international financial roles with Courtaulds after qualifying with Coopers & Lybrand. Richard Armitage, the current CFO will leave the Company on 31st July, 2014, and David Main, Director of Finance, will act as Interim Chief Finance Officer until Chris Smith joins McBride.

API Group plc announced that Chris Smith has notified the Board of his intention to resign from his position as Group Finance Director to take up a similar role with another listed company. Chris has been with API since 2008. Whilst disappointed to be losing his services, the Board understands Chris’ desire to make the next logical step in his career. He will continue to fulfil all his existing responsibilities prior to departure at the end of the calendar year and a process is being commenced immediately to recruit a successor.

Pennon Group Plc announced the appointment of Neil Cooper as a Non-executive Director with effect from 1 September 2014. He will be chairman of the Board’s audit committee and a member of its remuneration, sustainability and nomination committees. Neil is Group Finance Director of William Hill PLC and previously was Group Finance Director of Bovis Homes Group PLC. Before that he held senior finance roles with Whitbread plc, worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers as a management consultant and held a number of roles with Reckitt & Colman plc.

Darty plc announced that Dominic Platt, Finance Director, has also informed the Board of his intention to step down from his role and seek new opportunities elsewhere. Dominic has agreed to continue in his role until the September 2015 AGM at the latest in order to oversee the moves to Paris and to allow an orderly handover to his successor.

Network Rail announced the appointment of Sharon Flood as a non-executive director. Ms Flood brings with her extensive financial experience having previously served as finance director for John Lewis department stores for five years. Ms Flood held previous senior finance and strategy roles within the Kingfisher Group, including B&Q, before joining John Lewis department stores as finance director in 2005. Since 2012, Ms Flood has worked with Sun European Partners, an international private equity investment advisory firm, as group chief financial officer.
