AA plc announced the appointment of Dr. Martin Clarke as Chief Financial Officer in succession to Andy Boland. Martin is part of the MBI team and has been an executive director since 26 June 2014 and has over 30 years of private equity experience. He will become CFO with immediate effect and succeeds Andy Boland, who will leave the AA at the end of December, after a period of handover.
Legal & General Group Plc announced the appointment of Richard Meddings as independent non-executive director of the Company. His appointment will take effect from 1 December 2014. Richard has over 30 years of banking and financial services experience, most recently having spent 12 years on the Board of Standard Chartered and eight years as Finance Director. Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Richard was Group Financial Controller at Barclays and was also Chief Operating Officer for the Wealth Management, Premium Retail and Life Assurance businesses. He has also served on the Board of Woolwich as Group Finance Director and as a non-executive director at 3i where he was the Senior Independent Director and Chair of the Audit Committee. Richard is currently a non-executive director on the Board of HM Treasury.
Aster Treasury Plc announced the appointment of Chris Benn as a director with effect from 10 November 2014. Chris joined Aster Group Limited in March 2014 as Finance Director. Prior to joining Aster, Chris held a number of senior roles at Euromoney II PLC including deputy finance director, group financial controller and head of UK finance.
Capita plc announced that Gordon Hurst will retire from Capita and step down as Group Finance Director and from the Group Board with effect from 28 February 2015, after 27 years with the Company. Gordon will remain employed by the Group as a consultant until 30 September 2015. Nick Greatorex, currently Executive Director of Capita’s Insurance & Benefits Services division, will join the Group Board and succeed Gordon as Group Finance Director effective from 1 March 2015. Nick Greatorex joined Capita in 2006 and has held a number of senior commercial, finance and management roles across the Group. He began his career in Capita as commercial lead on some of Capita’s largest major bids and went on to oversee the transition and development of these contracts. He then became Life & Pensions Divisional Commercial Director, Insurance & Benefits Services Divisional Finance Director and is currently Executive Director of the Insurance & Benefits Services division. He was previously Chief Financial Officer of Liberata plc (now owned by HCL) and held senior merger and acquisition roles at a number of organisations, including Centrica plc.
Anglo-African Minerals plc announced the appointment of Martyn Knight as Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”). Martyn has worked in corporate reorganisation services at Deloitte. For the past 18 years Martyn has been commercial financial director or officer for several SME’s, including financial reporting roles to three venture capital investors as financial director.
