CFO Moves Canada – week ending August 22, 2014

Agrium Inc. (TSX: AGU) announced Steve J. Douglas has accepted the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective November 3, 2014. Steve comes to Agrium from Brookfield Asset Management where he was Senior Managing Partner and CFO of Brookfield Property Partners and also previously held the role of CFO at Falconbridge.

Just Energy Group, Inc. (TSX: JE) announced the appointment of Patrick McCullough as Chief Financial Officer and the departure of Beth Summers from that role following a transition period. Mr. McCullough has an 18 year career of progressive experience in senior financial roles, most recently as the Chief Executive Officer of Amonix, a role he took on in June 2012. He had been the CFO of Amonix since May 2010. Prior to this, he had held the CFO role with IMI Severe Service from May 2007, Division CFO for Johns Manville, from April 2005 and various roles with Ford Motor Company culminating as Deputy General Manager and CFO of a joint venture in Shanghai China. He joined Ford in 1995.

Dominion Diamond Corporation (TSX: DDC) announced the appointment, effective as of September 8, 2014, of Ron Cameron as Chief Financial Officer. Previously, Mr. Cameron was an Executive Vice President of Concentra Financial. He also held senior leadership positions in Viterra Inc., SaskFerco and Crown Life Insurance. Mr. Cameron will be replacing Wendy Kei who had agreed to move from Toronto to Yellowknife for a two year period to support the move of the Company’s head office. Ms. Kei, who has worked for Dominion for 10 years, will return to Toronto where she will continue to support the Company in a transition role.

Dental Corporation of Canada announced the appointment of Tom Weber as Chief Financial Officer effective September 2, 2014. Previously, Mr. Weber enjoyed tremendous success at CML HealthCare where he built and led the finance function.

Dalmac Energy Inc. (TSX-V: DAL) announced the appointment of Jonathan Gallo to be its Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Gallo is currently the Principal of a Chartered Accounting firm. Prior to leading his own firm, Mr. Gallo articled and worked at both a large national accounting firm and a prominent regional accounting firm as a Chartered Accountant. Jonathan sits on the Board of Directors of Mountain Equipment Cooperative

Tango Gold Mines Incorporated (TSX-V: TGV)announced the appointment of Kalyan Paul as Chief Financial Officer of the Company, in place of Jennifer Boyle who recently resigned due to other commitments. Mr. Paul is also a consulting Financial Controller for two other junior mining companies, Takara Resources Inc. and Satori Resources Inc. Previously, Mr. Paul has worked in various accounting and finance positions including medium to big sized public and private companies.

MATRRIX Energy Technologies Inc. (TSX-V: MXX) announced that Imran Gulam, its Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), has resigned effective September 1, 2014, to accept a position outside the oil and gas industry. Mr. Gulam was appointed Vice President Finance and CFO of MATRRIX in May, 2012.

Photon Control Inc. (TSX-V: PHO) announced the appointment Gerald Adams, who has served as the Company’s Controller since February 2011, as Interim Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Adams succeeds Vernon Smith, who has resigned as the Company’s Interim CFO to pursue new business opportunities. In addition to assuming the Interim CFO role, Mr. Adams will retain responsibilities for the Company’s IFRS financial reporting, budgeting, and manufacturing costing. Prior to joining Photon Control, Mr. Adams has had 30 years extensive experience with both public and private companies in a broad range of finance and operations roles including financial controller and cost controller.

CFO Moves Canada – week ending August 8, 2014

Birks Group Inc. announced that Michael Rabinovitch, the Company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, submitted his notice of resignation. The notice was provided as a result of the Company’s recently announced corporate restructuring plan to centralize its head office operations in Montreal. Mr. Rabinovitch does not wish to relocate to Montreal and will remain with the Company until October 27, 2014 to ensure a proper transition until his departure date.

Callinex Mines Inc. (TSX-V: CNX) announced the appointment of Rebecca Moriarty as Chief Financial Officer. Mrs. Moriarty spent 11 years at PwC working with public resource companies. The Company’s previous Chief Financial Officer, Tamara Edwards, who also currently serves as CFO of Callinan Royalties Corporation, has resigned.

K-Bro Linen Inc. (TSX: KBL) announced that Kristie Plaquin has been appointed as Interim Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Plaquin has been with the Corporation since 2001 and was the Chief Financial Officer from January 2004 through May 2005 during which time the Company completed its Initial Public Offering and debt financings. After stepping away from K-Bro for a year through 2005 – 2006, Ms. Plaquin has served as Director of Financial Planning during which time she has played a lead role in all of K-Bro’s growth and financing initiatives. Ms. Plaquin joined K-Bro from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Besra Gold Inc. (TSX: BEZ) announced the appointment of John Glen as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer. Prior to co-founding successful investment banking firm Prime Corporate Finance, John spent 13 years with Bankers Trust Australia Limited rising to become Vice President – Industry and Client Sector Group, where he was responsible for investment banking services in Western Australia.

DHX Media Ltd. (TSX: DHX) announced that Keith Abriel, formerly a consultant to the Company, has joined DHX as Chief Financial Officer. Since 2010, Mr. Abriel has been providing consulting services to DHX Media Ltd. mainly in the area of taxation, and other public and private companies, working closely with management. While with PwC, he served as the senior manager on DHX Media’s year-end audits from 2004 to 2007, and on the Company’s IPO in 2006.

Prism Medical Ltd. (TSX-V: PM) reported that George Chiarucci, Chief Financial Officer, has left the company, and will be available to the Company in a consultative capacity. The company also announced that Rose Papastamos, Vice President, Corporate Controller, will take over the office of CFO. The position of Vice President, Corporate Controller will not be filled.

Ressources Appalaches (TSX-V: APP) announced the nomination of Darrin Campbell as chief financial Officer (CFO) of the company. Mr. Campbell has already been working with the company as the controller since May 2013. Mr. Campbell brings more than 15 years of executive financial management and leadership experience in the mining and exploration sector. Mr. Campbell replaces Ginette Brisson who is with the Company since 2005 and will remain with the Company to assist on part time basis until fully retired.

COGECO Inc. (TSX: CGO) and Cogeco Cable Inc. (TSX: CCA) announced the departure of Pierre Gagné who was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, for personal reasons.

Mortgage Company of Canada Inc. announced it has appointed Tammy Oldenburg as an independent member of the Board of Directors. Ms. Oldenburg has over 17 years of experience in various financial positions with MCAN Mortgage Corporation (“MCAN”), Bank of Montreal and Ernst & Young. She was most recently Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of MCAN from 2006 to 2013.

Sunshine Oilsands Ltd. (TSX: SUO) announced that that Mr. MEN Qiping has been appointed as Interim Chief Financial Officer of the Corporation. Most recently, Mr. Men was the Vice President of Goldenkey Oil Inc. Prior thereto, Mr. Men was the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of each of Anterra Energy Inc. and Sahara Energy Ltd.

Uniserve Communications Corporation (TSX-V: USS) announced the appointment of Albert Lim, the Company’s former Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary, as a new member of the Company’s Board of Directors.

Rockefeller Hughes Corporation (TSX-V: RHC) announced the hiring of David Sederis who has joined Rockefeller as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Sederis has over 20 years’ experience in business including roles as CFO for an oil field services related manufacturing firm, head of planning and economics for an international E & P company, Senior Vice President of a boutique investment bank focused on energy, and economic advisor at a midstream company.

Hyperion Exploration Corp. (TSX-V: HYX) announced that William (Bill) Cromb has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Mr. Cromb has served at Provident Energy Trust, Beau Canada Exploration, North West Upgrading, Canterra Energy as well as other organizations.

Barrick Gold Corporation (TSX: ABX) announced that Ammar Al-Joundi was promoted to Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Loblaw Companies Limited (TSX: L) that Richard Dufresne, will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer of Loblaw. Mr. Dufresne will retain his role as Chief Financial Officer at George Weston Limited. Sarah Davis, previously Chief Financial Officer, will become Chief Administrative Officer. Ms. Davis, was appointed CFO in 2010.
