UK | CFO Moves - week ending 27 March 2015

Tracking CFO Movement Across the United Kingdom.


nterprise Inns plc announced that Marisa Cassoni will be appointed as a new Non-Executive Director from 1 April 2015 and will serve on the Audit, Nomination and Remuneration committees of the Board. She was previously Finance Director of the UK Division of Prudential Group. Between 2001 and 2006 she was Finance Director of the Post Office (subsequently Royal Mail), and between 2006 and 2012 she was Finance Director of the John Lewis Partnership. Ms. Cassoni is currently a Non-Executive Director of AO World plc, Skipton Group Holdings Limited and The People’s Operator plc, where she chairs the Audit Committees.

Manchester Building Society Group announced that Chris Gee, Finance Director of the Society, will also be stepping down from the Board on 31 March 2015. Mr Gee has been Finance Director since 2005 and will take up a new non-Board role of Head of Corporate Development and Secretarial Services. Paul Gittins, formerly Finance Director of Skipton Financial Services Limited, will take on the role of Interim Finance Director, effective as of 1 April 2015, pending a permanent appointment.

GAME Digital PLC announced that Benedict Smith has informed the Board of his intention to step down from his role as Group Chief Financial Officer later this year. Benedict joined GAME in January 2013 following roles in private equity and private equity-backed retail and leisure businesses. Benedict is to leave GAME to take up the position of CFO at a private equity-backed business. In order to ensure a smooth transition, Benedict will remain on the Board and with GAME until July, working closely with the finance team including Alan Evans, recently appointed GAME’s UK Finance Director.

Barratt Developments PLC announced the appointment of David Thomas, currently Group Finance Director, as Group Chief Executive effective from 1 July 2015. David joined as an Executive Director and the Group Finance Director on 21 July 2009. He was formerly the Group Finance Director and the Deputy Chief Executive of The GAME Group plc (2004-2009). Before that he was the Group Finance Director at Millennium and Copthorne Hotels plc (1998-2004) and held senior financial roles with House of Fraser plc and Forte plc.

Progility plc (AIM: PGY) announced the appointment of Hugh Cawley as Group Finance Director. Hugh, a Chartered Accountant, has specialised for some years in helping listed and private businesses improve their performance, including latterly Dawson Holdings plc and office2office plc. Mr Cawley replaces John McIntosh, who is stepping down as a Director and leaving the Group to pursue other interests.
