UK | CFO Moves - week ending 28 February, 2014

Aviva plc announced that Tom Stoddard will join the Board of Aviva and become Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) with effect from 5 May 2014. He will replace Pat Regan who, as announced on 23 January 2014, is leaving Aviva. Tom is currently Senior Managing Director, Head of Global Financial Institutions Advisory at Blackstone. Since the start of 2013, he has been a principal corporate adviser to Aviva. He has been with Blackstone since 2008. He was previously with Ellman Stoddard as Partner and co-founder: Credit Suisse and DLJ as Managing Director and Head of Global Insurance Group; and UBS as Director, Financial Institutions Group. He was also previously with Lehman Brothers and Cravath, Swaine & Moore, and PNC Bank.

The British Council has appointed Caroline Stockmann to be its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Caroline joins from Save the Children International where she was CFO. She has held senior finance and commercial roles at organisations including the Southbank Centre, Unilever and Novartis Pharmaceuticals in the UK, Benelux, Thailand and Switzerland. The British Council’s interim CFO, Christopher Kinsella, will continue to lead several major change programmes within the British Council until Ms Stockmann starts. He will oversee the year-end financial process and hand over to Ms Stockmann in early June.

Aggreko plc announced that, after 11 very successful years as Group Chief Executive, Rupert Soames has tendered his resignation from the Group to enable him to take up a new role as CEO of Serco Group plc. He will leave Aggreko after the Annual General Meeting on 24 April 2014. The Board has commenced a process to identify a permanent successor and has appointed Angus Cockburn, currently Chief Financial Officer, as Interim CEO from 24 April and Carole Cran, currently Director of Group Finance, as Interim CFO.

Royal London Group has appointed Tim Harris as its new Finance Director. Harris, who will be a member of the Royal London Board, will join the company on the 19th May from global specialty insurer, Torus, where he is currently Group Chief Finance Officer. Prior to Torus he held various senior finance roles at Aviva (including CFO AVIVA Europe and Deputy Group CFO) and PWC. Tim replaces Kerr Luscombe, who had previously decided to step down from his position as Group Finance Director due to personal circumstances. Kerr joined the Group in 2011 as Group Strategy Director before being appointed to the Board and to the position of Group Finance Director.

BATS Chi-X Europe announced the appointment of Jill Griebenow as Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Griebenow joins from parent company BATS Global Markets. Most recently, Ms. Griebenow served as Assistant Controller at BATS Global Markets. She joined BATS Global Markets in 2011 as a Financial Reporting Specialist from global accounting firm EY (previously Ernst & Young), where she held the position of Senior Manager.

Walker Greenbank PLC (AIM: WGB) announced the appointment of Mike Gant as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer. Mike joins Walker Greenbank from Britvic plc where he was finance director of the GB and International business units. Alan Dix, who has held the position of Group Finance Director for the past nine years, will leave the Company at the end of April 2014 after completing a handover period. Mike will also join the Company’s Board. After a number of financial roles in the leisure sector, he joined the food manufacturer Geest plc in 2000 as divisional finance director before becoming group financial controller. In 2004, he joined Constellation Brands Inc., where he worked in a number of financial and commercial development roles prior to joining Britvic plc in 2009.

WH Ireland Group Plc announced that Alan Kershaw, Finance and Operations Director, has, by mutual agreement, stepped down from the Board and left the Company. The Board will be in a position shortly to announce a successor to the role of Finance Director.

Tribal Group plc announced the appointment of David Egan as a non-executive director of the Company with effect from 1 April 2014. David is finance director of Alent plc. David was previously the Chief Financial Officer at ESAB, a division of Charter International plc. Prior to joining ESAB in 2008, David was Group Financial Controller of Hanson plc based in London, and prior to that Chief Financial Officer, Hanson Asia Pacific based in Singapore. David will become Chair of the Audit Committee of the Company following the Company’s AGM in May 2014.

Idox plc (AIM: IDOX) announced the appointment of Jane Mackie as Chief Financial Officer. Jane has been a member of the Company’s finance team for over eight years, where she has held the position of Group Financial Controller since 1 March 2009 and Company Secretary since 1 December 2009. Prior to this Jane was an assistant audit manager at Grant Thornton in Glasgow.

Rockhopper Exploration plc announced that Stewart MacDonald will join the Company’s Board as Chief Financial Officer with effect from 10 March 2014. Prior to joining the Company, Stewart was a Director in Rothschild’s global oil and gas group.

Newbury Racecourse PLC announced the appointment of Claire Spencer as Finance Director. Claire was previously Group Financial Controller at the Racecourse and has worked at for the Company for three years.

Golden Saint Resources Ltd (AIM: GSR) announced that the Company has appointed Simon Marcus Lawton to the board of Golden Saint as an independent Non-Executive Director. Simon will also Chair each of the Audit Committee, the Remuneration Committee and the AIM Compliance Committee. Simon Lawton has an extensive track record as a finance director in a number of growing businesses, including London Stock Exchange listed Tribal Group Plc. Simon left Tribal Group Plc in 2010 and became Chief Financial Officer of Cabo Delgado Investments Limited. He left in March 2012 and is currently Chief Financial Officer and board advisor to a number of small and medium enterprises (including start-ups) and also holds five non-executive director positions.

UK | CFO Moves - week ending 21 February, 2014

Inmarsat PLC announced that Tony Bates will join the company on 2 June as an executive director and its Chief Financial Officer. Mr Bates has been the Group CFO of hibu (previously Yell Group Plc) since November 2010. Prior to hibu, he was Chief Operating Officer of Colt Group S.A. from 2003 to 2009. His previous senior management experience was mainly with EMI Group plc, latterly as Group Finance Director.

Blur Group PLC announced that Mitch Faigen becomes Chief Strategy & Finance Officer. Mitch commenced his career at Booz Allen and joined blur Group at the end of 2012. Most recently he was CFO for SDI Media Group.

Hunter Bay Minerals plc announced the appointment of Natasha Tsai to replace Hunter Bay’s outgoing Chief Financial Officer, William Payne, following the filing of Hunter Bay’s annual financial statements for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2013. Ms. Tsai is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Redtail Metals Corp. and also provides consulting services for Santacruz Silver Mining Ltd., Inca One Resources Corp., Pacific Hunt Energy Corp. and Cornerstone Metals Inc. She was previously the Chief Financial Officer of Arriba Resources Inc. and the Corporate Controller of Dejour Energy Inc.

Personal Group Holdings plc announced that John Barber, Finance Director, intends to retire from the Group at the Annual General Meeting in April 2014. John will depart the Group in June 2014. Mike Dugdale will continue in his role as Chief Financial Officer, following his appointment to the Board on 2 January 2013.

Augean plc announced that Richard Allen, Group Finance Director, has informed the Board of his intention to leave the Group to develop his career elsewhere.

Kier Group plc announced that Haydn Mursell, currently Group Finance Director, will take up the role of Chief Executive with effect from 1 July 2014.
