UK | CFO Moves - week ending 18 September 2015

Tracking CFO Movement Across the United Kingdom.


Strat Aero plc announced the appointment of Gerard Dempsey to the Board as Chief Financial Officer. Bob Salluzzo, the outgoing Chief Financial Officer, will remain on the Board as a non-executive Director. Most recently Mr Dempsey was Vice President Logistics Services and Finance Director of Sandvik Mining & Construction Ireland Ltd. Prior to this he was Chief Financial Officer of Airvod. Notable other roles Mr Dempsey has held include Finance Director at Microsoft Ireland, Head of Finance at Guinness, Head of Corporate Treasury and Structured Financing at Diageo, and Senior Corporate Treasurer at Pfizer. He also worked in investment banking and risk management at Schroders Australia.

Fastjet plc announced the appointment of Colin Child as Non-Executive Chairman of the Company with effect from 1 October 2015. Colin was most recently Group Finance Director of De La Rue Plc from 2010 to July 2015. Colin was also a Non-Executive Director at Rank Group Plc from 2011 to March 2014 where he was Chairman of the Audit Committee and Nominations Committee as well as the Senior Independent Director. Colin’s previous roles include Group Finance Director of DTZ Holdings plc, Stanley Leisure plc and Fitness First Plc.

Abcam plc (AIM: ABC) announced that after almost eight years as CFO, Jeff Iliffe has today served notice of his intention to step down from the Board, to move on to the next stage of his career outside Abcam within the next 12 months.

Atlantis Resources Limited announced the appointment of Simon Counsell as Chief Financial Officer. The Company has accepted the resignation of Duncan Black as Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”). Simon is currently UK and Netherlands Finance Director at InterGen (UK) Ltd, a role he has held since 2003. Simon was also made interim head of European Operations at the beginning of 2015. He started his career as an Audit supervisor at Coopers and Lybrand in 1989, before joining Singer and Friedlander Ltd as Finance Manager in 1993. He moved on to Merrill Lynch in 1995 before joining InterGen in 1998 as UK Trading Controller.

Real Good Food plc (AIM: RGD) announced the appointment of David Newman to the Board as Finance Director. Mr Newman has been Company Secretary of Real Good Food since 2010. He started his career as a Financial Accountant with Dawson Group Ltd and subsequently held senior financial roles at Pirelli Group Plc, J Mowlem & Co Plc and Napier Brown & Co Ltd (“Napier Brown”). In 2005 he became Financial Controller of Real Good Food following the Company’s takeover of Napier Brown. Following his appointment, Mr Newman will remain as the Company Secretary to the Company.

Ladbrokes PLC announced that following their announced intention to merge with Coral, it was agreed that Paul Bowtell, Coral’s Chief Financial Officer, would become Finance Director of the combined business. Accordingly the Board of Ladbrokes has now agreed with Ian Bull, Chief Financial Officer, the timing of his departure in February 2016.

Vesuvius plc announced the appointment of Guy Young as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director with effect from 1 November 2015. Mr Young replaces Chris O’Shea. Mr Young joins Vesuvius plc having most recently served as Chief Financial Officer of Tarmac. Prior to his role at Tarmac he held a number of senior financial and business development positions at Anglo American plc. Bill Kelly, presently the Vice President Finance for the Foundry Division will be appointed Interim Chief Financial Officer until Mr Young joins the Board. Mr Kelly will not be appointed as a Director of Vesuvius plc. Mr Kelly is a seasoned finance professional having held various senior positions in Vesuvius plc’s operations globally and in North America since joining the business in 2002.

SThree plc announced that it has appointed Anne Fahy as a Non-Executive Director, with effect from 1 October 2015. Anne will also serve on SThree’s Audit and Nomination Committees, chairing the Audit Committee. Anne is currently a Non-Executive Director of Interserve and was, until 31 July 2015, Chief Financial Officer of BP’s Aviation Fuels business.

Sefton Resources, Inc. announced that Raylene Whitford, the Company’s Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”), has announced her immediate resignation from the board of directors (the “Board”) for personal reasons. She will remain in her position as CFO in a non-Board capacity.
