CFO Moves – week ending October November 20, 2015
BioAmber Inc. (NYSE: BIOA) [MONTREAL] hired Mario Saucier to serve as its Chief Financial Officer, effective January 4, 2016. Andrew Ashworth, who came out of retirement in July 2015 to act as Chief Financial Officer on an interim basis, will leave BioAmber at the end of January 2016. Mario was the Chief Financial Officer of Englobe from 2008 to 2013 and the Chief Accounting Officer of Quebecor World from 2005 to 2008. From 1993 to 2005 he held a variety of positions at Bombardier Transport Group, including VP of Finance and Administration, VP SAP Implementation and VP Strategy and Performance. Since 2014, Mario has been the CFO of Gestion MB5, a privately held holding company for Norduyn Inc. and Transtex Composite Inc.
Aylen Capital Inc. (CSE: AYL) [TORONTO] announced the appointment of Alex Falconer as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Mr. Falconer replaces Jenifer Cho who will remain with the Company as its Controller. Falconer has served and continues to serve as a director and CFO for a number of Canadian public companies.

TD Bank Group [TORONTO] announced that Riaz Ahmed, currently Group Head Insurance, Credit Cards and Enterprise Strategy, becomes Group Head and Chief Financial Officer. Colleen Johnston, currently Group Head Finance, Sourcing and Corporate Communications, and Chief Financial Officer, becomes Group Head Direct Channels, Technology, Marketing, and Real Estate.
The Canadian Diabetes Association [NORTH YORK, ON] appointed John Reidy as Interim CFO and VP Shared Services, replacing Walter Kurz who has decided to pursue opportunities outside the Canadian Diabetes Association after five successful years of service. John brings to the Canadian Diabetes Association a successful history as a CFO in Healthcare, Technology and Retail, most recently with the Inception Retail Group which prepares founder led businesses for generational transitions. “
Covalon Technologies Ltd. (TSX-V: COV) [MISSISSAUGA, ON] announced the appointment of Danny Brannagan as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Brannagan has been managing Covalon’s finance team since joining the Company in November 2014. Prior to joining Covalon, Danny spent several years with PriceWaterhouse Coopers LLP. Prior to joining PriceWaterhouse Coopers LLP Mr. Brannagan was a professional football player with the Toronto Argonauts where he became the first Canadian-born quarterback to play for the Argonauts since 1969.
