Concordia University announced that Sonia Trudel has been appointed chief financial officer (CFO). She will be joining the university on August 17. Trudel replaces outgoing CFO Patrick Kelley. Trudel has held high-level positions in the public and private sectors. She was general manager for CBC/Radio Canada’s Real Estate Division. During her career, she was vice-president of Finance, Administration and Asset Management for the Old Port of Montreal and general manager for Nexacor, a subsidiary of SNC-Lavalin O&M. Trudel was also director of Finance for TeleReal Inc., a subsidiary of BCE and comptroller for both the Montreal Eaton Centre and Les services financiers Rodine.

Hydro One Inc. announced the appointment of Michael Vels to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Hydro One Inc. Mr. Vels was most recently Chief Financial Officer at Maple Leaf Foods Inc. where he took on increasing roles and responsibility from 1991 to 2014.

Corby Spirit and Wine Limited (TSX: CSW.A, CSW.B) announced that John Leburn, Vice President, Chief Financial Officer of Corby, will leave the Company, effective August 31, 2015, and return to his native Scotland for family reasons. Antonio Sanchez has been appointed as his successor as Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer of Corby effective September 1, 2015. Sanchez has over 19 years of industry experience with several Pernod Ricard affiliates and predecessor companies. Prior to joining Corby, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Pernod Ricard Japan, following the same role at Jan-Becher.

Manulife Asset Management Private Markets, the private asset management arm of Manulife (TSX, NYSE: MFC) announced that Sahezad Pardhan, a Senior Managing Director, was named Global Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Pardhan joins the organization from Oxford Properties Group, the real estate arm of OMERS pension fund, where he held progressively senior roles in finance, strategy and risk, most recently as Vice President, Strategy and Risk.

Clementia Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced that it has appointed Michael Singer as its Chief Financial Officer. He has held a number of senior finance and governance roles within the pharmaceutical industry including most recently at Bedrocan Canada and prior to that at Caprion and Thallion Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Singer served as Chairman of the Board of Warnex Inc. and currently serves on the board of Diagnos Inc.

Avigilon Corporation (TSX: AVO) announced that Ric Leong has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Avigilon. Mr. Leong will succeed Avigilon’s current CFO Wan Jung, who will continue to serve on the Company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Leong has been with Avigilon since July 2014 and currently serves as its Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. Prior to joining Avigilon, Mr. Leong served in several senior financial leadership positions at two large U.S.-listed public companies. Mr. Jung has been acting as Interim CFO while the Company has been seeking a permanent successor.

MagIndustries Corp. announced that James Fairbairn has been appointed as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer.

Urbanimmersive Technologies Inc. announced that Martin Thibault has been appointed Interim Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Thibault is Chief Operating Officer of Urbanimmersive since 2012. He will continue to act as COO. Urbanimmersive Technologies announces the departure of Jean Asselin who held the Interim CFO position since 2014.
