Canada | CFO Moves – week ending December 6 2013

Tracking CFO Movement Across Canada.


International Datacasting Corporation (TSX: IDC) announced the appointment of a new Chief Financial Officer. Steven Archambault, IDC’s new CFO, is a seasoned finance executive with over 15 years experience. Archambault has served as IDC’s Director of Finance and Treasury since 2012. Archambault’s experience includes service at Ernst & Young LLP as an audit manager, and more recently senior finance roles with a NYSE-listed reinsurance company. IDC’s outgoing CFO, Rick Clements, will continue at IDC until January 31, 2014 in order to support a smooth transition of responsibilities.

Balmoral Resources Ltd. (TSX: BAR) reported that Peggy Wu will replace Ross McDonald as CFO of the Company following Mr. McDonald’s retirement effective December 15, 2013. Ms. Wu has served as an advisor to the Company on financial matters since 2011. She is currently the CFO for Indico Resources Ltd. and Corvus Gold Inc. Ms. Wu’s previous experience includes acting as Financial Reporting Specialist for a number of resource based companies including Balmoral.

Lorus Therapeutics Inc. (TSX: LOR) announced the appointment of Gregory K. Chow as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Company. Mr. Chow previously held the position of Managing Director, and led the Private Placements team in the Life Sciences Investment Banking Group at Wedbush Securities. Prior to joining Wedbush, he was a Director in the Private Placements / Equity Capital Markets Group at RBC Capital Markets. Prior to RBC, he directed the Private Capital Group at Wells Fargo Securities, and was a Senior Auditor at BDO Seidman, LLP.

Sprott Resource Corp. (TSX: SCP) announced that it has named Michael Staresinic as the Company’s new Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Staresinic will take over from Steve Yuzpe, who was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Sprott Resource Corp. in October 2013. Prior to joining Sprott Resource Corp., he was Vice President of Finance at Sprott Inc. Previously, Mr. Staresinic spent nine years as Vice President of Finance at a publicly-listed alternative asset management firm.

Colt Resources Inc. (TSX-V: GTP) announced that Shahab Jaffrey has joined as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer. His last role was with Sherritt International Corporation as part of their senior internal audit and risk management team. Mr. Jaffrey replaces Aurelio Useche as CFO.

Firesteel Resources Inc. (TSX-V: FTR) announced that Ian Fodie has been appointed Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Fodie replaces Anna Lentz, who has resigned to pursue other interests. Most recently, Mr. Fodie has acted as CFO of First Bauxite Corporation, CFO of Lithium Americas Corp., President & CEO of Oriental Minerals Inc. (now Woulfe Mining Corp.), and CFO of Longview Capital Partners Inc. (now Resinco Capital Partners Inc.).

MedMira, Inc. (TSX-V: MIR) announced that Dan Frid, the Company’s Chief Financial Officer left the Company to pursue other professional opportunities. Frid has served as MedMira’s CFO since July 2010. The Company has identified a new CFO and a detailed announcement will be issued shortly.

Karoo Exploration Corp. (TSX-V: KE.V) announced that Roger Foster has been appointed as the Company’s CFO in place of Lorilee Kozuska who will no longer be the Company’s CFO.

Strongbow Resources Inc. (OTC: STBR) announced the appointment of Robert Da Cunha as Chief Financial Officer and a director. Prior to joining Strongbow, Mr. Da Cunha has been on the board of directors of other business corporations and spent more than a decade at TD Canada Trust, in increasingly senior positions where he acquired specific expertise in a number of critical areas including growth and credit lending for small to medium size enterprises, audits and compliance. Prior to his career in resources and finance, Mr. Da Cunha briefly held positions at both the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General and the University of Toronto.

AQM Copper Inc. (TSX-V: AQM) reported that Alan Ahlgren has resigned as CFO of the Company. Erick J. Underwood has been appointed as the CFO of the Company. Mr. Underwood has 20 years of experience in corporate development, business planning and analysis, treasury and accounting for the mining industry including 14 years while being based in Chile and Peru working for Cia. Minera Antamina and BHP Billiton.

Atikwa Resources Inc. (TSX-V: ATK) announced that Garry Topolnitsky, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), has resigned his position due to personal reasons. Mr. Topolnitsky has agreed to assist the Company until a new CFO is retained.

Hyperion Exploration Corp. (TSX-V: HYX) announced that Doug Bailey has resigned as Chief Financial Officer of the Company to pursue other interests. Newman Pak, Corporate Controller, has been appointed as interim Chief Financial Officer of Hyperion. Mr. Pak has held his role as Corporate Controller since July 2012.
