CFO Moves this week include:


Delcath Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: DCTH) announced the appointment of pharmaceutical industry veterans Laura A. Brege and Tasos G. Konidaris to the Company’s Board of Directors. Most recently, Ms. Brege served as Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Onyx Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining Onyx, Ms. Brege held a number of positions, including General Partner of Red Rock Management, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of COR Therapeutics, CFO of Flextronics, Inc. and Treasurer of The Cooper Companies. She currently serves on the boards of Acadia Pharmaceuticals and Pacira Pharmaceuticals, as well as the Foundation Board of Ohio University. Currently, Mr. Konidaris serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Ikaria Inc. Prior to joining Ikaria Inc., Mr. Konidaris served in several senior positions at Dun & Bradstreet Corporation (D&B), including Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and Principal Accounting Officer. Previously, Mr. Konidaris held senior positions at a range of companies, including Group Vice President of the Global Pharmaceutical Group at Schering-Plough Corporation; Vice President of Finance for North America and Global Business Management at Pharmacia Corporation. Prior to his time at Pharmacia, Mr. Konidaris held senior finance management positions at several global pharmaceutical companies including Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, Novartis Corporation, and Bristol-Myers Squibb.

Chiliad Inc. announced the appointment of Michael Schwien as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to Chiliad, Michael was CFO for Bamboo Solution. Before that, Mr. Schwien was Vice President of Finance for Overwatch Systems, Inc., acquired by Textron, Inc. Michael has also held the position of Chief Financial Officer at VitalSpring Technologies, Inc. and at VCampus Corporation. He has also held numerous accounting and business operations positions at BDM Technologies, Inc. (acquired by TRW), ICF Kaiser International and Deloitte & Touche.

HeartWare International, Inc. (NASDAQ: HTWR) announced the appointment of Peter F. McAree as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. Mr. McAree most recently was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Caliper Life Sciences, Inc., prior to the company’s acquisition by PerkinElmer, Inc. in November, 2011. Mr. McAree served as Chief Financial Officer of Zymark prior to the company’s merger with Caliper in 2003. During his eight years with Caliper, Mr. McAree served as Vice President of Finance and Treasurer before being promoted to CFO in 2008.

AdSafe Media announced that it has named Kristin Leary as its new SVP of Finance. Prior to joining AdSafe Media, Leary served as VP, financial controller for PulsePoint, a position she commanded for more than 7 years. Prior to PulsePoint, she held management positions at Summit Systems, Thomson Media, Arthur Andersen and Oberon Software.

Covario, Inc. announced that Claire Long, formerly the chief financial officer of the San Diego Union-Tribune, has joined the company, as both its chief financial and its chief operating officer. Before Long joined the Union-Tribune, she served as the CFO of Visual Sciences (formerly WebSideStory).

Resolvit, LLC has appointed Joseph Esparraguera as its Chief Financial Officer. Esparraguera most recently served as the vice president of finance and human resources for Linens of the Week. He has earned senior financial roles at several other venture-backed start-ups such as Prematics (now part of NaviNet), Diveo, Inc., and Radio Movil Digital.

Invincea, Inc. announced the appointment of Dana Duffy to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Duffy most recently served as CFO for NetWitness Corporation, which merged with RSA Security and was previously with CareFusion, which merged with Cardinal Health.

Starz, LLC announced the promotion of Scott D. Macdonald to the position of Chief Financial Officer for Starz, LLC. Macdonald served most recently as executive vice president, finance, accounting and treasurer for Starz, LLC. Macdonald joined Starz Media in 2006 as senior vice president, finance and accounting, and then was promoted to executive vice president, finance and accounting and treasurer at Starz Media in 2007, Starz, LLC in 2008 and Starz Entertainment in 2009. Prior to joining Starz, Macdonald worked for Adelphia Communications as Chief Accounting Officer, AT&T Broadband as senior vice president and corporate controller and for PRIMESTAR, Inc., serving as vice president, controller.

Apollo Global Management, LLC (NYSE: APO) and its subsidiaries announced that effective upon his start date, which is to occur no later than October 1, 2012, Martin Kelly will serve as its new Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Kelly succeeds Gene Donnelly, who has advised the Company of his decision to resign from Apollo to pursue other interests. To facilitate an orderly transition, Mr. Donnelly has agreed to continue in his role as Chief Financial Officer until mid-August of this year, and he has also agreed to remain with the Company as a senior advisor through the end of 2012. From 2000-2012, Mr. Kelly was with Barclays and Lehman Brothers in leadership roles. Most recently, Mr. Kelly served as Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer of the Americas, and Global Head of Financial Control for the Corporate and Investment Bank. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers in 2000, Mr. Kelly spent thirteen years with PricewaterhouseCoopers. He was appointed a Partner of the firm in 1999.

Time Out Group announced that Aksel van der Wal, the group’s COO and President of Time Out New York, will take over as CEO from David King who is stepping down. Before joining Time Out last year, van der Wal was CFO of Seatwave and before that, CFO of Vodafone’s Global Business Development unit.

Trans World Entertainment Corporation (NASDAQ: TWMC) announced it has named John Anderson acting Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Anderson will be replacing Tom Seaver who will be leaving the Company to pursue other opportunities.

Agendia announced a key addition to their executive team with the appointment of Glen Fredenberg as CFO and Vice President of Finance. Previously, Fredenberg was the CFO at US Labs. Most recently, he has been the CFO at Clarient, which was successfully sold to GE Healthcare in late 2010.

Ares Commercial Real Estate Corporation (NYSE: ACRE) announced today that it has hired Tae-Sik Yoon as its new Chief Financial Officer, replacing Richard Davis, who served in the same capacity on an interim basis. Most recently, Mr. Yoon served as Senior Vice President of Akridge. Prior to that, Mr. Yoon held various positions at J.E. Robert Company, Inc. and its affiliates, including as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Yoon also served in the real estate investment banking group at Morgan Stanley & Company and was an attorney at the law firm of Williams & Connolly LLP. Mr. Davis will continue to serve as an officer of Ares Commercial Real Estate Management LLC, Ares Commercial Real Estate Corporation’s external adviser.

Union First Market Bankshares Corporation (NASDAQ: UBSH) named Robert M. Gorman, Executive Vice President UNION FIRST MARKET BANKSHARES CORPORATION LOGOand Chief Financial Officer. Rob is succeeding Tony Peay who was recently named Chief Banking Officer. Gorman had been at SunTrust Banks, Inc. since 2002 and most recently was Senior Vice President – Director of Corporate Support Services. Prior to working at SunTrust Banks, Inc., Gorman was Senior Vice President – Technology and Operations Group Chief Financial Officer for FleetBoston Financial Corporation from 1997 to 2002. Gorman began his career at Arthur Andersen & Co. before joining the Bank of New England Corporation in 1982. Gorman joined Liberty Mutual Insurance Group in 1991 as Director of Corporate Finance and also served as Director Corporate Treasury from 1993 to 1994.

Buildablock Corp. (OBB: BABL) announced that Daniel J. Krofcheck has been appointed as the Company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. The Company’s previous Chief Financial Officer, Alex Kestenbaum, resigned as Chief Financial Officer and as a director. Most recently, from June 2007 to September 2008, Mr. Krofcheck served as Chief Financial Officer of Globe Specialty Metals, Inc. From 1997 to 2006, he served as Vice President and Treasurer of Century Aluminum Company. Prior to that, Mr. Krofcheck was Assistant Treasurer for H. J. Heinz Company. Mr. Krofcheck began his career at United States Steel Corporation.

Organovo Holdings, Inc. (OTC: ONVO) announced that James T. Glover has been appointed to the Company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Glover was also appointed to serve as chair of the Audit Committee, chair of the Compensation Committee and as a member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee of the Board. Mr. Glover was the Senior Vice President, Operations and Chief Financial Officer of Anadys Pharmaceuticals, Inc., which was acquired by Hoffmann-La Roche Inc., from 2006 to 2009. From 1989 to 2006, he was employed by Beckman Coulter, Inc., most recently serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Glover served as a director of Varian, Inc., a publicly-traded company purchased by Agilent Technologies, and was Varian’s audit committee chairman. He currently serves as a director for a non-profit corporation.

ADS Tactical, Inc. announced that William A. Roper, Jr., ADS’ President and Principal Financial Officer and a member of ADS’ Board of Directors, is retiring from ADS. Patricia Bohlen, ADS’ Chief Financial Officer since 2004, will assume Mr. Roper’s duties and responsibilities as Principal Financial Officer.

Teakwood Capital announced that Vinse Davidson has joined the firm as Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer. Previously, Davidson was a Partner and CFO with STARTech Early Ventures for twelve years. His career also includes work for MasTec, Inc., a national construction company, as Division President and for Trammell Crow Company, a commercial real estate developer and manager, as CFO of their Dallas Industrial Division. Between corporate careers, Vinse has provided CFO services for growth-stage companies on a consulting basis.

GlobalSCAPE, Inc. (NYSE: GSB) announced that James Albrecht has joined the company as its chief financial officer. Desiree Smith, who has served as interim CFO since February of this year, will continue her role as corporate controller. Most recently, Albrecht was CEO and CFO of Express Digital Graphics, Inc. which was acquired earlier in 2012 by Imaging Spectrum, Inc.

Buccaneer Resources, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Australian listed Buccaneer Energy Limited, announced that Ron Huff has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Mr. Huff was most recently serving as the CFO of EdgeMarc Energy Holdings. He has also worked for other well-known U.S. based firms as Atlas Energy, Aurora Oil & Gas Corp and Transco.

Airclic announced the appointment of Carl Smith as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Airclic, Mr. Smith served as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President for over a decade at MEDicisions, Inc.

KaloBios Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced the appointment of Jeffrey H. Cooper as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Cooper was previously Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of BioMarin Pharmaceutical, Inc. At BioMarin, Mr. Cooper started in 2003 as Vice President, Controller, and then served as its Chief Financial Officer from 2005 to May 2012. Prior to BioMarin, from 1995 to 1997 and 1998 to 2002, he served as Vice President of Finance at Matrix Pharmaceuticals. Earlier in his career, Mr. Cooper held numerous finance-related positions within the health care and pharmaceutical industries, including Corporate Controller at Foundation Health Systems and Director of Business Analysis at Syntex Corporation, a company he worked for from 1983 to 1995. Latitude Solutions, Inc. (OTC: LATI) announced the appointments of James B. Smith as Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Smith replaces Matthew J. Cohen as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer. Smith was previously employed from 2003 through 2012 as: Director, President and CFO of Tidelands Oil and Gas Corporation; resident Manager of two offices of Robert & Company, CPAs; and CFO of Michelson Energy Corporation.

SmartHeat Inc. (NASDAQ: HEAT) announced the appointment of Michael Wilhelm as SmartHeat’s Chief Financial Officer. Since 1984, Mr. Wilhelm worked in various financial positions for the Proquest Company and became its corporate treasurer in 1998. In 2001, Mr. Wilhelm joined the Bowe Bell + Howell Company, which was formed through a leveraged buyout of Proquest. Following the spin-off, Mr. Wilhelm served in multiple capacities for Bell + Howell, including vice president of finance, treasurer and president of its leasing company subsidiary. Following the acquisition of Bell + Howell by Bowe Systec AG, Mike served as chief financial officer for North America.

Federal Realty Investment Trust (NYSE: FRT) announced that James M. Taylor will succeed Andrew Blocher as chief financial officer. Mr. Taylor most recently served as senior managing director and head of real estate investment banking at Eastdil Secured Wells Fargo. He worked for nearly 15 years at Eastdil Secured and its predecessor companies, Wachovia Securities and First Union Securities. Prior to that, Mr. Taylor practiced corporate and securities law with a focus on REITs at Hunton & Williams from 1994 to 1998, and worked as a senior accountant for Price Waterhouse from 1988 to 1991.

Weight Watchers International, Inc. (NYSE: WTW) announced the appointment of Nicholas P. Hotchkin to serve as its Chief Financial Officer. Hotchkin joins the Company after having spent the past five years at Staples, Inc. Most recently, Hotchkin was Senior Vice President of Finance for the U.S. Retail division of Staples based in Massachusetts. Before assuming that position in May 2010, he had been Senior Vice President of Finance and Treasurer of Staples, a position he held from November 2006 to April 2010. Prior to joining Staples, Hotchkin held several corporate finance positions with Delphi Corporation and General Motors Corporation including assignments in the United States, Asia and Europe.

Atlantic Power Corporation (NYSE: AT) announced that Terrence (“Terry”) Ronan has been appointed Executive Vice President – Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Ronan succeeds Lisa Donahue, who has served as the Company’s Interim Chief Financial Officer since July 2011. Most recently, Mr. Ronan served as Managing Director-Finance and Assistant Treasurer at Plains All American Pipeline, L.P. Prior to that, Mr. Ronan served as President and Chief Executive Officer of SemGroup, L.P. From 2006-2008, Mr. Ronan served as Managing Director at Merrill Lynch Capital where he co-founded the start-up Energy Finance practice. Mr. Ronan also spent 14 years at Bank of America, culminating in his role as Managing Director. In addition to his corporate career, Mr. Ronan served in the U.S. Navy from 1981 to 2007, retiring after 26 years of service with the rank of Captain.

Associa announced Patrick Brensinger as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to joining Associa, Brensinger served large and mid-size companies at Alvarez & Marsal Business Consulting, LLC. Before Alvarez & Marsal, Brensinger worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the Washington Federal and Dispute Analysis & Forensics practices.

Silver Tail Systems announced Paul Farmer has joined the executive team as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Silver Tail Systems, he served as Chief Financial Officer for Narus, Inc., which was acquired by The Boeing Company.

Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. (NASDAQ: EGLE) announced that Adir Katzav, formerly Director of Financial Reporting, has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Katzav succeeds Alan S. Ginsberg, who has advised the Company of his decision to pursue other professional interests.

Barracuda Networks Inc. announced that upon the resignation of Dean Drako, who has served as its President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman for nine years, it has created an Office of the CEO on an interim basis, which includes CFO David Faugno.

NPN Media announced the promotion of Henry Corona to Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining NPN Media as a financial consultant in 2009, Corona served for more than 20 years as a consultant to communication companies throughout the U.S., U.K. and Latin America, including Lucasfilm Ltd., Omnicom and The Rand Corporation. Most notably, Corona worked for News America where he reported directly to Rupert Murdoch for the acquisition of 20th Century Fox.

Storage Pros Management LLC announced the promotion of John D. Price III to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Previously, Price was SVP and CFO of the company.

Archstone announced that it has promoted Charles E. Mueller Jr. to president and chief operating officer and appointed R. Webster Neighbor as its chief financial officer. Mr. Mueller, who has held various leadership positions with Archstone since 1994, took over as Archstone’s chief operating officer in 2007, while retaining his responsibilities as chief financial officer. Mr. Mueller has been Archstone’s chief financial officer since 1998. Since 2005, Mr. Neighbor has served in various roles in investment banking, fixed income and principal investment at Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., most recently as senior vice president. In addition, Neighbor was responsible for managing Lehman’s investments in Archstone after the company’s privatization in 2007.

Scientific Learning Corporation (NASDAQ: SCIL) announced that Jane Freeman has been named Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. Ms. Freeman previously served as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer from 2000 to 2008.
