With the hour of truth quickly approaching ahead of Sunday’s crucial election in Greece, European equity markets are well supported in early trading today as traders are increasingly confident that major central banks and governments have contingency plans in place to counteract any possible market turmoil arising out of Sunday’s vote.

Mid morning, of great interest and importance will be the Spanish central bank’s latest debt figures for the Spanish government and even more important for the troubled regions whose deficit seem to be spiralling out of control not only putting a heavy burden on Spain altogether but also denting investor’s confidence.

Finally quadruple witching might bring additional short term volatility into the markets while at the same time many traders are expected to remain on the sidelines till after the Greek elections with the outcome continues to remain unclear.
