Hero Group appoints new CFO

The Hero Group, with a mission to delight consumers by conserving the goodness of nature, announces that it has appointed Karsten Boyens as new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He will take up his new position on April 1, 2016.

Boyens brings with him a wealth of experience in the financial field. In 2012, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Swiss-based luxury skincare company La Prairie Group, an independent business unit within the Beiersdorf Group. He joined the Beiersdorf Group 10 years earlier and held a number of posts in Germany and France, including Head of Regional Controlling and Finance Director Benelux/France Group. He began his professional career with McKinsey & Company where he worked on numerous projects in different fields over a four-year period.

The company has an interesting portfolio of brands in different categories and I look forward to contributing to the development of the business in the future.”

German-born Boyens, 44, is married with three children. He studied business administration at the WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management in Koblenz, Germany, and holds a PhD from the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel, Germany. He replaces Stephan Schopp who stepped down from the post late last year due to health reasons.
