CFO Moves Canada – week ending September 13, 2013

The Second Cup Ltd. (TSX: SCU) announced that it has appointed Steve Boyack as Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Boyack joins Second Cup most recently from The Source holding the positions of Senior Vice President Sales & Operations and prior to that Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Boyack held senior finance positions at Priszm Income Fund, West 49 Inc. and TJX Canada after starting off his career in the consumer packaged goods industry with Kraft and The Quaker Oats Company. Mr. Boyack assumed his responsibilities at Second Cup on June 24, 2013 when he was appointed the same role on an interim basis.

Xenon Pharmaceuticals Inc. announced the appointment of Ian C. Mortimer as Chief Financial Officer. He is currently Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Tekmira Pharmaceuticals Corporation. Prior to his most recent position at Tekmira, Mr. Mortimer was Chief Financial Officer at Inex Pharmaceuticals Corporation. Mr. Mortimer will join Xenon as Chief Financial Officer full time by November 1, 2013.

Trinidad Drilling Ltd. (TSX: TDG) announced that Brian Burden and David Halford joined Trinidad’s Board of Directors. Mr. Burden is an independent businessman with extensive experience in senior finance roles with large public companies, including most recently Chief Financial Officer at TransAlta Corporation. Mr. Halford is an experienced senior corporate executive and currently holds the position of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer at ENMAX Corporation.

Palo Duro Energy Inc. (TSX-V: PDE) announced Danny Lee has tendered his resignation to the Board of Directors resigning from the position of Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) of the Company in order to pursue other professional interests. In the interim, the Board has appointed Kurt Bordian, President and CEO, as acting CFO of the Company.

LNG Energy Ltd. (TSX-V: LNG) announced Danny Lee has tendered his resignation to the Board of Directors (the “Board”) resigning from the position of Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) of the Company in order to pursue other professional interests. In the interim, the Board has appointed David Nelson, President and CEO, as acting CFO of the Company.

Prophecy Coal Corp. (TSX: PCY) announced that it has appointed Irina Plavutska as Chief Financial Officer Ms. Plavutska has been with Prophecy for nearly 3 years since 2010 acting prior as interim Chief Financial Officer and controller. Ms. Plavutska replaces Jeff Mason as Prophecy’s Chief Financial Officer.

Carmanah Technologies Corporation (TSX: CMH) terminated the contract of Roland Sartorius as Chief Financial Officer. At the same time, Carmanah appointed Stuart Williams as Chief Financial Officer.

MCW Energy Group (TSX-V: MCW) announced the appointment of Karlo Vartan as Chief Financial Officer of the MCW Energy Group to replace Richard S. Rawdin who has resigned to focus on other opportunities. Mr. Vartan’s background includes business strategy consulting, public company representation, mortgage back securities, mergers and acquisitions with high tech firms in Los Angeles and New York.

Kazax Minerals Inc. announced the appointment of Anthony Samaha as the Company’s new Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Samaha worked for over 10 years with international accounting firms, including Ernst & Young. Mr. Samaha has been involved in acquisitions and resource projects in various regions of the world, including Australia, South Africa, West Africa, North America, India and People’s Republic of China. Mr. Samaha is a Director of AIM quoted Reabold Resources Plc and Equatorial Palm Oil Plc. Mr. Samaha replaces the Company’s Chief Accountant, Nuriya Kamaledinova, who acted as the Company’s temporary Chief Financial Officer.

Anterra Energy Inc. (TSX-V: AE.A) announced the appointment of Norman Knecht as Chief Financial Officer. Most recently, Mr. Knecht was Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Terrex Energy Inc., the company acquired by Anterra in March 2013. Prior to Terrex, Mr. Knecht was Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Compton Petroleum Corp. Mr. Knecht replaces Qiping Men, who resigned from the position after two and a half years.

Consolidated Tanager Limited announced that is has appointed Carolyn Watson as Chief Financial Officer and Director of the Company. Ms. Watson replaces Jack A. Murphy as Chief Financial Officer.

CFO Moves Canada – week ending September 27, 2013

Brookfield Infrastructure (TSX: BIP.UN) announced the appointment of Bahir Manios as Chief Financial Officer of Brookfield Infrastructure. Bahir succeeds John Stinebaugh, who will be taking on another role at Brookfield. Bahir Manios joined Brookfield in 2004 and has held a number of senior finance roles within the organization.

Honey Badger Exploration, Inc. (TSX-V: TUF) announced the appointment of Peter D. Liabotis as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Liabotis has served on the Company’s Audit Committee and as a director of the Company since 2009. Mr. Liabotis served as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer for Olympia Capital from 1998 to 2008.

TransGaming Inc. announced that Brice Scheschuk, co-founder of Globalive Communications / WIND Mobile, has been appointed to TransGaming’s board of directors. Brice Scheschuk is a Co-founder and the Chief Financial Officer of Globalive Communications / WIND Mobile. He has been with Globalive /WIND for ten years in a senior finance capacity. Brice is the CFO of GlobaliveCapital and AAL Corp as well as Co-President of Brave Investment. He is the Chairman and Director of SambaDays, a gift experiences company, and a past director of a number of public and private companies including Web Host Industry Review, iLookabout, Hy-Drive Technologies and Varicent Software.
