KLOX Technologies Inc. announced that Mariano Rodriguez has been promoted to the position of Senior Vice-President, Corporate Development and Chief Financial Officer. Having been part of KLOX’s senior management team since August 2011, as vice president, chief of finance and operations and corporate secretary, Mariano Rodriguez has over 20 years of experience in corporate finance with publicly-listed and private companies. Before joining KLOX, he served as executive vice-president and chief financial officer of GFI Solutions Group, from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, he was vice-president and chief financial officer of Neurochem and Galileo Genomics as well as vice-president, finance and administration, of Bibliomondo Inc. Mr. Rodriguez began his career with Ernst & Young in 1991 and subsequently was the global director of finance for Phoenix International.

Cogeco Inc. (TSX: CGO) and Cogeco Cable Inc. (TSX: CCA) announced the appointment of Patrice Ouimet as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Cogeco, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Enerkem Inc. He also served as Vice President, Corporate Development and Enterprise Risk Management at Gildan Activewear Inc. Mr. Ouimet worked for the previous ten years in the investment banking sector in various roles at Lazard Limited and CIBC World Markets Inc.

Urban Communications Inc. (TSX-V: UBN) Urban Communications announced the appointment of Chris Convey as its Interim Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Convey has previously served as the Chief Financial Officer of Uniserve Communications Corp. and more recently as Interim CFO/COO of Mobetize Inc. Prior to Uniserve he successively served as Vice President of Finance for two hi-technology firms in the U.K., and he has further served as the Financial Controller for PA Consulting’s Venture Investment arm.

Redstar Gold Corp. (TSX-V: RGC) announced the appointment of Grant T. Smith as Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Mr. Smith is a partner at Clearline Chartered Accountants, and replaces Jeannine Webb. He acts as Chief Financial Officer for a number of junior exploration companies including Northern Iron Corp., Emgold Mining Corporation, Firesteel Resources Inc. and Premium Exploration Inc.

Tricon Capital Group Inc. announced that Margaret Whelan, its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), is leaving the Company. June Alikhan, who joined the Company in 2001, served as its CFO from May 2010 until September, 2013, and is currently its Executive Vice President, Finance and Administration, will serve as Interim CFO until a new CFO is appointed.

Intellipharmaceutics International Inc. (TSX: I) announced that it has appointed Domenic Della Penna as its new Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”). Mr. Della Penna previously served as CFO of Teva Canada Limited (“Teva”) since December 2010, and he had also simultaneously served as Interim CFO of Teva North America Generics in the United States since December 2013. Prior to his time at Teva, Mr. Della Penna was the CFO of Timothy’s Coffees of the World, and Vice President of Finance of Diageo Canada Inc.

TransAmerican Energy Inc. (TSX-V: TAE) announced that Teresa Cherry has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of the Company, taking the place of Richard Barnett, who has resigned from those positions. Mr. Barnett has been appointed as an additional director of the Company. Mrs. Cherry acts as Controller for several public companies in the oil and gas and resource industries.
