CFO Moves – week ending February 27, 2015

The Ottawa Senators announced the appointment of Ken Taylor as the organization’s new chief financial officer (CFO). Taylor joins the Senators from BTI Systems Inc., where he served as CFO since 2013. Taylor currently serves as director and Chair of the Audit Committee of Sandvine Corporation. Prior to joining BTI, Taylor was the CFO of March Networks Corporation until it was acquired in 2012 and just prior to that he served as CFO and COO for Proshred Security International. He also spent nearly 10 years with Newbridge Networks Corp. and held the position of vice-president of finance when Newbridge was sold to Alcatel in 2001.

PrairieSky Royalty Ltd. (TSX: PSK) announced that L. Geoffrey Barlow, Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer is retiring from the Company.

Radient Technologies Inc. (TSX-V: RTI) announced the appointment of Prakash Hariharhan as Interim CFO of the Corporation subsequent to the resignation of Randy Fries who resigned due to other business commitments. Mr. Hariharhan was formerly a portfolio manager at Front Street Capital.

People Corporation (PEO) announced that Keith McMahon joined as Chief Financial Officer, replacing from Brevan Canning. As previously announced, Brevan Canning had been promoted to Group Head – Benefits Solutions. Over the past 14 years, Keith has held a number of executive leadership roles with Arctic Glacier, including Chief Financial Officer, Executive VP & Chief Financial Officer, and most recently President & Chief Executive Officer.

Industry Training Authority (ITA) has appointed Farnaz Riahi as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Riahi started her career as a Staff Accountant at Ernst & Young and later worked as the Director of Planning & Analysis at Corus Entertainment, and was the Vice President of Finance at Channel M (now Omni Media). Before accepting the role at ITA, she was Vice President of Finance at Canada Wide Media Limited.

CFO Moves – week ending February 20, 2015

Gildan Activewear Inc. (TSX: GIL) announced that James Kehoe, who joined the Company as Executive Vice-President, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (“EVP, CFO and CAO”) in January, has resigned to join Kraft Foods Group, Inc. (“Kraft”) as EVP, CFO. The opportunity at Kraft arose as a result of organizational changes announced by Kraft last week. Mr. Kehoe has held senior roles in finance and operations over the course of an approximate 25-year career at Kraft. Laurence G. Sellyn, who held the position of EVP, CFO and CAO of Gildan prior to Mr. Kehoe’s appointment, will resume his former responsibilities.

Blackbird Energy Inc. (TSX-V: BBI) announced that Jeff Swainson has been appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer. Prior to his appointment as Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Swainson held the position of Controller with Blackbird. Mr. Swainson began his career with BDO Canada LLP. Subsequent to receiving his CA designation, Mr. Swainson held positions of increasing responsibility with Chevron Canada Resources and Sonde Resources Corp. Ron Schmitz has resigned as Blackbird’s Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Schmitz will continue to serve on Blackbird’s Board of Directors.

Gold Royalties Corporation (TSX-V: GRO) appointed Sam Wong as the Chief Financial Officer of the Corporation. Mr. Wong is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Chesapeake Gold Corp and Lowell Copper Ltd. Prior to those positions, Mr. Wong was the Corporate Controller at Luna Gold Corp. The company also advises that Ian Fleming has resigned as CFO of the Corporation.

Athabasca Nuclear Corporation appointed Sam Wong as Chief Financial Officer of the Corporation. Mr. Wong is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Chesapeake Gold Corp and Lowell Copper Ltd. Prior to those positions, Mr. Wong was the Corporate Controller at Luna Gold Corp. The company also advises that Ian Fleming has resigned as CFO of the Corporation and as a Director of the Corporation.

Select Sands Corp. (TSX-V: SNS) announced the appointment of Darren Urquhart as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Company. Mr. Urquhart will be replacing Larry Johnson as CFO.

CRS Electronics Inc. (TSX-V: LED) announced the appointment of Michael Lam as Chief Financial Officer of the Company, replacing Matthew Groen. Michael is an experienced Chief Financial Officer having held this position with several public companies including Mega View Digital Entertainment Corp. and Canada Pacific Capital Corp. Since February 2009, he has been self-employed in the business of consulting extensively on financial reporting and regulatory matters for public companies. He served as a Senior Manager of Mintz & Partners LLP, an audit, tax, consulting and financial advisory services firm from October 1997 to December 2007. He served as Senior Manager of Deloitte & Touche LLP from January 2008 to January 2009. He was previously the CFO of CRS Electronics from October 2012 to May 2013.

Wellstar Energy Corp. (TSX-V: WSE) announced that Christopher P. Cherry will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”). Mr. Cherry has held senior level positions for several public mining companies including Director, Chief Financial Officer, and Secretary. Mr. Cherry replaces Minaz Dhanani as CFO.

CFO Moves – week ending February 13, 2015

Canadian Pacific (TSX: CP) announced that Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Bart Demosky has decided to leave the company effective May 31, 2015.

BC Ferries announced that Dennis M. Dodo has been appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer effective April 8, 2015. Most recently he was Vice President of Shared Financial Services for Ontario Power Generation. BC Ferries also confirmed that current Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Robert P. Clarke will defer his planned retirement and transition into a new role on April 1, 2015 to lead BC Ferries’ new business transformation programs.

Catalyst Paper Corporation (TSX: CYT) announced that Brian Baarda, Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer, has decided to leave the company to advance his career in a more senior leadership role with another organization. Mr. Baarda has agreed to remain with Catalyst until April 15, 2015.

Parkland Fuel Corporation (TSX: PKI) announced that it has appointed Mike McMillan as its Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”). Mr. McMillan joined Parkland in 2009 as the Controller of the Retail division and subsequently led the integration of Cango Inc. and Parkland’s eastern Canadian retail operations. In 2011, Mr. McMillan was appointed Vice President and Treasurer. Mr. McMillan has over 20 years of experience in public and private industry roles including Director of Finance for Nortel Networks, Retail Controller of Nygard International, Controller of Buhler Industries, and Vice President of Professional Services for a Toronto-based consulting company.
